The open plan dining area connects the two reception rooms and also leads to the kitchen. The kitchen is a good size and has a pantry/laundry area to the rear, through a traditional arch way dating from 1830. This is the old converted coal house. The kitchen is traditional country style with some original features. The floor is slate tiles and there are rustic wooden handmade units. The kitchen looks out on to the patio area and again down the garden and to the pond. Downstairs there are two lounge areas one which opens out through double doors on to the patio and again excellent views and the other having a real fire. The house is a three bedroom semi detached cottage. The original part of the building dates from 1830. We have all the original paperwork and deeds from this time. We recently extended this one-bedroom, brick maker’s cottage and now have 2 double bedrooms and one single. The house is newly decorated and is in good order. There is also a good family sized bathroom upstairs with a white suite, a large corner bath and separate shower cubical. The bathroom is light and airy and has an excellent view of the land and pond, as does the main bedroom. |
